Hello y'all,
For years I have grown gorgeous, huge hibiscus flowers in my garden and come to find out they are extremely good for your skin. Who knew?!
Hibiscus has been named the "botox plant" because of its powerful anti-aging effects. It can inhibit elastase which is an enzyme that breaks down elastin in your skin. So basically this plant fights aging by lifting and firming up your skin. The flower contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) like malic and citric acid to help exfoliate the skin, accelerating the production of fresh, new, lighter skin which could help with those darn dark age spots. They are also chock full of antioxidants which can help protect skin from the everyday perils we face.
Again.... Who knew?!
So what I have done is gathered the flowers from the hibiscus plants in my garden, dried them and then brewed them in aloe vera juice to make a strong tea. I then used that tea as the liquid to make my goat's milk soap with. I added honey (because honey always goes with tea =) which is known for its own skin loving antibacterial and antifungal properties and along with the rest of the skin pampering ingredients of my soap recipe, I created this unique bar. I also topped it with the dried petals of my miniature roses in the garden.
I am super excited to offer this special "home grown" bar.
Hope you all have a fantabulous day!
Love and bubbles, Grandma Deb
